Read this, if you’re not yet where you want to be.

Life, if we’re not careful, can become a race from one accomplishment to another. One high to the next.

We can miss a whole lot of the magnificence of who we are (and what we have) by focusing, so intently on who we aren’t (and what we don’t have).

Yes, we have dreams. We have aspirations. Doing our best is imperative. But in our striving for what’s to be ours, we mustn’t lose our heads during the journey.

In this day, it’s very easy to go insane, chasing a phantom of the ideal life. The collusion and illusion of what’s attainable have many out on the ledge, risking their sanity for riches and notoriety and attention.

Nothing is more valuable than inner peace. Many are aware. But very few act as-if.

Because, the dirty truth is, what some of us secretly want is the inner peace but with added bonuses.

We want a meaningful life and a billion dollars.

While the mature (including myself) may know that peace is not a product of wealth, we’re still willing to exhaust every limb to attain it (to know for ourselves).

Not being where you want to be can be a double-edged sword. And only those who feel this way know the roots of the cause of this feeling.

The symptom could be the cause of one of two reasons:

  1. You’re not in acknowledgment of the great person you are and the great things you’ve achieved. And you’re chasing an external circumstance that will never be fulfilled.
  2. You know what you have and you know that you’ve not given yourself the time, the effort, nor the opportunity to get better. And you’re fooling yourself.

Now, in both situations, you could possibly judge yourself too harshly.

You could possibly rush your progress and not give yourself the time to grow and understand why you’re feeling this way.

Either way, you want to avoid acting on an impulse before understanding the roots of the cause.

Growth takes time and wisdom is the result of healing scars. Live long enough and you will realize, what you wanted, you had all along. Just maybe, in a different form.

Thank you for reading.
