Small goals are very helpful. With any big goal, there are always smaller checkpoints that we can mark off beforehand. The biggest thing I’ve had to do is not focus so much on the BIG GOAL (which can lead to overwhelm) but manage my day-to-day. I’ll ask myself, “What small thing can I do today to move closer to my BIG GOAL?” If it’s writing a book, maybe that’s outlining or writing 1000 words.
Sometimes, you do have to trick your mind.
